November 16, 2010 – Whether it’s entertaining a house full of family or battling crowds at the mall, this time of year can be a circus. Take a break while tantalizing your taste buds at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s first-ever Culinary Carnival the Saturday after Thanksgiving!

Stop by the Grizzly Grill for free appetizer samples and recipe ideas to help make holiday entertaining a little easier, purchase fresh prepared salsas and BBQ sauces for friends on your gift list, see liquid nitrogen cooking demonstrations, and even win Grizzly Grill gift certificates. The kids will enjoy the carnival-like atmosphere, Brain Freeze ice cream eating contest, and pizza tossing. Then warm up with a little homemade chili from award-winning Grizzly Grill Chef Beau Green and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo President Bob Chastain. Don’t forget to cast your vote letting them know which recipe is your favorite in this friendly competition. Be sure to come hungry!

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s Grizzly Grill opened in April 2010 and showcases gourmet cuisine you might not expect to see at a zoo. Chef Beau’s menu includes delicious offerings like fresh salads, wraps, Asian rice bowls, pasta dishes, brick oven pizza by-the-slice, and a carving station with daily specials. Diners enjoy a “Culinary Theatre” as they watch their food selections prepared fresh in front of them.
