PENGUIN PICASSOS, ORANGUTAN ORIGINALS AND A “TRUNK” SHOW, JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
-- Zoo to You Gallery in downtown Colorado Springs offers unique art made by the animals for three days only this December --
November 22, 2011, Colorado Springs, CO – What do you get for the person on your list who has everything? Forget the fruitcake - how about something made locally by your favorite Cheyenne Mountain Zoo animal? Chances are Aunt Edna doesn’t have a canvas created by Lucky the African elephant!
The zoo is coming off the mountain with a unique holiday shop in downtown Colorado Springs for three days only this December. The Zoo to You Gallery features original hand (and trunk) painted pieces from Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s elephants and orangutans, as well as paw prints and other art created by African penguins, Amur tigers, ponies and more.
In addition to art made by the animals, you’ll find wild gifts like Cheyenne Mountain Zoo animal adoption packages, animal encounter gift certificates, ornaments and membership gift certificates. Best of all, your gift gives twice. We know your friends and family will love their one-of-a-kind gift, but your purchase also benefits the animals at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Plus, a portion of the proceeds help their wild counterparts through Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s Quarters for Conservation program.
