Preschoolers love zoo camp too!  Sessions run Monday thru Friday; choose between morning (9am to noon) and afternoon (12:30pm to 3:30pm).

Nocturnal Night Club
Week 4b; June 25 & 26- THIS IS AN OVERNIGHT CAMP

In this special program, campers have the opportunity to spend two nights in a row at America’s only mountain zoo! Explore the habits of some of our favorite nocturnal animals and learn to identify constellations. Session runs from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. both nights (there is no camp during the day) and includes dinner and breakfast.

Two-week camp allow that extra time for campers to dive deeper into a topic!  Camp runs Monday-Friday from 9am to 3pm for the first week and Monday-Wednesday from 9am to 3pm during the second week. There is no camp during the day on Thursday of the second week to begin the cookout and optional overnight. 

Campers should register for the grade they will enter in the fall.

Cookout and optional overnight: Campers arrive at 7pm on Thursday for a cookout and night tour; families can join in on the cookout and tour for $7 a person.  Campers then stay overnight and finish at noon on Friday.  Those who do not want to stay overnight may still attend the cookout and night tour, and/or the half-day program on Friday from 8am to noon. 

Junior Zookeeper (grades 5-6)
Week 7 & 8; July 15-19 & 22-26 - THIS IS AN OVERNIGHT CAMP

Has your child ever wondered what it would take to be a zookeeper? This special two-week camp gives them the opportunity to take a closer look inside zoos. They’ll discover how to take care of exotic animals and what it takes to save endangered species from extinction.  During this extended session, campers will meet with operations staff to learn more about exhibit design as well as discover the many different career options zoos have to offer.

Dates & Times

Offered during weeks 7 & 8 only, July 15 - 19 and 22 - 26.

Camp runs Monday-Friday from 9am to 3pm for the first week and Monday-Wednesday from 9am to 3pm during the second week. There is no camp during the day on Thursday of the second week.  The optional overnight starts at 7pm on the second Thursday and finishes on Friday at noon. Campers not wishing to participate in the overnight can still attend Friday's session from 8am to Noon.

Both 1-Day and 3-Day camps are listed below by grades offered during the week of July 4th. (There is no camp on July 4th or 5th.).

Offered only during the week of the Independence Day holiday! One day are offered for grades 1-3 and three days are offered for grades 5 & 6. Extended Day Camps are also available this week; please see the expandable below for more details

1-Day Camps

Camps are offered July 1, 2 and 3. Pick one day or any number of days--you can even mix and match!

Expedition Ecosystem (grades 1 & 2)
Tromp through the forests, conquer the mountains, swish through the savannah, peruse the prairies, and survive the deserts in an exciting week of ecosystem exploration!  In addition, your camper will explore how humans interact with these ecosystems and what everyone can do to be stewards of nature. 

Wild World (grade 2)
In only a week, campers will travel around the globe, visiting wild animals and their habitats.  Don’t worry; they will be home by 3!

Winged Wonders (grade 3)
Birds, bats and butterflies all have wings but do they all lay eggs?  Campers will explore the similarities and differences of these animals and how they use their wings!

3-Day Camps

Camps run all three days: July 1-3.

ZSI: Zoo Science Investigators (grade 4)
During this week, campers will become wildlife biologists as they explore a “crime scene” and uncover clues to solve the mystery, using the same skills scientists use in the field.   

Junior Zookeeper (grades 5 & 6)
Has your child ever wondered what it’s like to be a zookeeper? This camp gives them the opportunity to get an inside look at zoos. They’ll discover how to take care of exotic animals and what it takes to save endangered species from extinction.

These optional extended day camps allow parents earlier check-ins and later pick-ups AND allows campers some special time at the zoo! Extended Day Camps are offered every camp week except weeks 3 and 8.

Extended Camp Choices (Grades K-6)

Early Birds
Check in between 7:45am and 8:00am. $55 for the week.

Late Gators
Pick up anytime after 3:15pm and before 5:30pm. $85 for the week.

Beastly Bunch
Register for both Early Birds and Later Gators and save! $125 for the week.

As a result of the tremendous growth in the programs being offered and the overall popularity of your Zoo, the following policies have been developed to enable us to clarify program fees and manage registrations more effectively.

Registration

Advance registration is required for all programs. Registrations may be received by phone, in-person or online. Programs are filled on a first come, first serve basis, and all registrations will be prioritized by date of receipt. Online registration may close seven (7) days prior to the scheduled program date; please register by phone or in-person after that time to ensure participation in the program.

Program Cancellation

The Zoo reserves the right to cancel a program due to lack of enrollment or unforeseen circumstances in which the Zoo is closed. If the Zoo cancels the program, a full refund or rescheduling of the program is available.

Refund Policy

A written refund request must be received no less than TWO WEEKS prior to the start of the program. If approved, the Zoo will refund the amount of the fee minus a $25 non-refundable administrative fee. No refunds will be given after two weeks prior to the start of the program.

Deposits and Payments

Any camp reserved with a deposit must be paid in full TWO WEEKS prior to the start date of camp. Unless you notify us otherwise, we will finalize your payment using the credit card on file two weeks prior to the start date of camp. The $25 deposit is a non-refundable administration fee.
