Education Outreach Coordinator
The Education Department at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is currently seeking dynamic, energetic and enthusiastic candidates for Education Outreach Coordinator position. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of over 500 live animal outreach programs per year. The successful candidate for this position will have a personality and attitude that fosters a friendly environment by proactively engaging our guests, coordinating volunteers and supplemental staff for a variety of appearances at schools and within the community while also actively managing the revenue and expenses for this program. Handling a variety of live animals including reptiles and invertebrates is required. Knowledge of and experience with positive reinforcement training and animal enrichment is preferred. This is an hourly position starting in the mid-20’s per year, depending on experience. If interested, please see the full job description and carefully review the qualifications.

Major Gifts Officer
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is seeking an energetic, articulate person to join our Development Department team as Major Gifts Officer. This full-time position is responsible for planning and implementing an annual major gifts cultivation strategy, developing and implementing an annual personal solicitation plan for existing and prospective donors, expanding our planned giving program, developing and implementing donor and fundraising events, and continually finding new ways to keep donors connected to the Zoo. Zoo Crew Supervisor
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is looking for a creative, enthusiastic, mature, responsible and hardworking individual with a passion in conservation education and working with teens in the outdoors. Zoo Crew Supervisors take a leading role in all aspects of our program participants’ experience, as mentors, role models and educators. Maintenance Technician II
The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is searching for a person to fill the position of Maintenance Technician II. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a nonprofit environment and be skilled in all areas of maintenance procedures. This is an hourly position. Maintenance Technicians are expected to work weekends and holidays as required.Specific Responsibilities:
To install new equipment and to maintain all Zoo equipment and facilities. The work is to be completed in a professional and timely manner.
Perform preventive maintenance as required.
To inspect and monitor all Zoo buildings and other equipment for needed repairs and safety needs.
Be prepared to respond to a variety of situations both planned and unplanned to insure that the Zoo is kept in good operating order and free of safety hazards. This includes natural disasters and all safety issues that are discovered.
Maintain tools, supplies, and keep the work area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
Be prepared to work alternate shift and special functions that are necessary to maintain the functions of the Zoo

Education Intern
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is looking for creative, enthusiastic, responsible and hardworking individual with a passion for Environmental Education and working with children. Education interns take a leading role in all aspects of our program participants’ experience, teaching diverse audiences from toddlers to adults in the Zoo’s education programs which include early childhood programs, camps, tours, birthday parties and overnights. During educational programs, interns will provide a link between participants and nature, through experiences that inspire action, in support of the Zoo’s mission “to connect people with wildlife and wild places through experiences that inspire action.” This position includes extensive walking, spending time outside in all weather and working with children on a daily basis.
