Welcome!
Whether you're planning your first visit or returning to experience more of Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, we're happy to have you!

Hours of Operation
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is open all year round and welcomes visitors to explore and enjoy the animals. Be sure to check specific hours of operation as they change from season to season and on holidays. And remember, with the exception of some special events and holidays, the last admission is always at 4 p.m.
Please note: Mountaineer Sky Ride hours are different than Zoo hours of operation.
Summer Months
(May 1st through Labor Day)
9 a.m.- 6 p.m. (last admission at 4 p.m.)
Please note that not all animals will be out on exhibit until 6pm.
All Other Months
9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (last admission at 4 p.m.)
Please note that not all animals will be out on exhibit until 5pm.
Holiday Hours
Thanksgiving Day: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., last admission is at 3 p.m.
Christmas Eve: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., last admission is at 3 p.m. (no Electric Safari)
Christmas Day: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., last admission is at 3 p.m. (Electric Safari begins at 5:30 p.m.)
New Year's Day and all other holidays: Normal hours
Note: The Will Rogers Shrine is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Special Event Hours
From time to time we offer special events at the Zoo that require us to close early to set up.
Boo at the Zoo.
During select October weekends, the Zoo will close at 3 p.m. (last admission at 2 p.m.) and reopen for Boo at the Zoo at 4 p.m. (A separate admission fee is charged for Boo at the Zoo.)
Electric Safari.
During many December evenings, the Zoo will close at 5 p.m. (last admission at 4 p.m.) and reopen for Electric Safari at 5:30 p.m. (A separate admission fee is charged for Electric Safari.)

Admission, Fees & Discounts
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo operates independently of local tax support. That means we depend on admission fees, membership dues, donations and grants for funding. By visiting, you'll not only experience amazing animals, you'll be helping to care for them. Your Zoo admission also includes an admission to the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun for that day.

Day after Labor Day through April
Hours: 9am-5pm (last ticket sold at 4pm)

School Admission Rates

Colorado Preschool-12 Schools
Spring Season April 1 - June 30: $6.50 per child
Remainder of the Year July 1 - March 31: $5.25 per child(Includes a $0.25 donation to Quarters for Conservation).
You will also be allowed 1 free adult chaperone per 10 students. Any other adults with the group will be charged a discounted admission rate of $15.25 during peak-season (May 1 -Labor Day) or $12.25 during off-season (day after Labor Day-April). Children under the age of 3 are free. Memberships DO NOT apply for Docent tours and Education Programs. Education program fees may be an additional charge and require advanced registration. Please visit the School Groups page to register your visit and receive further valuable information.

Out-of-State K-12 School Groups
$2 off the current regular admissions rates for adults, children and seniors. A minimum 15 people are required to obtain this group rate.
Group Admission Prices
Groups of 15 or more can receive $2.00 per person off regular Zoo admission (peak or off-season) prices. Group rates are not valid with other discounts or coupons, and we are unable to accept passes in place of admission fees for these rates. These rates also apply to daycare centers, church groups and other groups that are not Colorado K-12 schools.

The Zoo is a wonderful place to hold your special event, view available meeting and party rental's pricing and details.
Getting to the Zoo
Located in southwest Colorado Springs on the side of Cheyenne Mountain, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is situated just above (to the west) of The Broadmoor Hotel.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS
Driving Directions to the Zoo from Interstate 25
Take exit 138 (Circle Drive).
Go west to The Broadmoor Hotel.
Turn right at the hotel and follow the signs to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
