Zoo Hours

Your Zoo is open seven days a week, 365 days a year from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., (unless otherwise noted; for details see Alerts & Special Notices).

Zoo Admission

Daytime admission is always FREE with your Zoo membership.
Advanced tickets are required for Individual Plus, Family, Grandparent and Family Plus member entry. Tickets are subject to selling out! Because of this, during busier times of the year (i.e. summer, holidays, weekends, etc.) you will need to plan at least 5 days, if not a week, in advance to visit the Zoo with your membership at the date and time you desire.

Reserve Advance Member Tickets

Current members: We ask that you be courteous to fellow members by not over-reserving tickets that you cannot use. Please release your member tickets if plans change, so that other members can enjoy the Zoo, by emailing [email protected] at least 24 hours to your ticketed date. We release unused tickets as they are cancelled.

JOIN US FOR YOUR SUMMER 2024 MEMBER EVENTS!

– RISE AND SHINE MEMBER MORNINGS – Saturdays, June 1 through Labor Day Weekend, 8 – 9 a.m.
Members can enter the Zoo at 8 a.m. every Saturday morning through Labor Day weekend! Watch and listen as the Zoo wakes up. This perk is only available to those listed on a membership ( named adults, their children or grandchildren, included “plus” guests and Third Adults). Advanced timed tickets are required for daytime admission for Individual Plus, Family, Grandparent, and Family Plus level members. All named adults, including Third Adults, are required to present a valid photo ID upon check-in. We hope you join us soon!

– MEMBER APPRECIATION NIGHT – Tuesday, June 11, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
We appreciate you, so join us and your favorite animals for our first after-hours members-only event of the summer! Don’t forget your discount at our Thundergod Gift Shop. All restaurants will be open! Please note, we may have no scheduled animal demonstrations for this event, but watch for “pop-up” experiences. We look forward to seeing you at the Zoo! Check your membership email for more details. Reservations are not required for this Member Appreciation Night event (5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.).

– MEMBER ENRICHMENT NIGHT – Wednesday, July 10, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
How do we keep our animals active and healthy? We give them enrichment that can include activities that use natural behaviors, allow control over their environment and enhance their well-being. Enrich your evening by watching our animals enjoy themselves! All restaurants will be open. Animal demonstrations and keeper talks will be happening throughout the evening. Check your membership email for more details. Reservations are not required for this Member Enrichment Night event (5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.).

– END OF SUMMER MEMBER CELEBRATION NIGHT – Wednesday, August 7, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Can you believe it? Summer goes by so fast! Enjoy one last after-hours wander through the Zoo at our Members-Only end of summer event! Beat the heat and share a special night at the Zoo. Don’t forget your discount at our Thundergod Gift Shop. All restaurants will be open! Animal demonstrations and keeper talks will be happening throughout the evening. Check your membership email for more details. Reservations are not required for this End of Summer Celebration Night event (5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.).

*Who can attend Members-only events?

Please note: Patron Dinner is by invitation only; however, member nights are open to all members.
For an Individual Plus membership, the primary card holder and his/her guest is included (listed adult must be present).
For a Family or Grandparent membership, the one or two primary adults and any children listed on the card are included.
For Family Plus/Grandparent Plus and higher, any “Plus” people are included (x1 for Family Plus/Grandparent Plus, x2 for Conservator and higher – Note: a listed adult must be present to bring the “Plus” person/people).
Third Adults can also attend if they are listed on the membership.
Be sure to have your membership card and photo ID (for listed adult names) to check in at the front gate.
No guests, non-members or one-time-use guest passes can attend to members-only events.
The Sky Ride Day Pass is not applicable to members-only or after-hours events.
Memberships cannot be renewed during a members-only event, so make sure your membership is active prior to attending!

FREE Admission to Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun
Membership includes FREE access to Russell Tutt Scenic Highway and Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun. Enjoy a 1.4 mile drive up the Russell Tutt Scenic Highway to this spectacular historic monument with breathtaking views of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region. Visit the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun for details on hours and access.

Mountaineer Sky Ride Day Pass or individual Sky Ride Ticket Discount
For just $35, you can add a Sky Ride Day Pass to any membership and ride as much as you like! Or, receive a $1 discount on individual Mountaineer Sky Ride tickets.
Quarters for Conservation
Part of your membership goes to support Quarters for Conservation. With every visit, you will receive quarter “tokens” and get to contribute to the conservation project that inspires you. Learn more about our conservation efforts and programs.

I have been prompted to change my password, but I am experiencing difficulty accessing my online account. What should I do?

Please be sure your password meets the following criteria*:
– at least 12 characters long,
– at least one lowercase letter -or- one uppercase letter
– at least one number value,
– at least one special character (i.e. !, @, #, $, etc.).
– Your password cannot contain your name(s), username, or organization name in any text direction.
– Passwords must be changed every 365 days.

*If your existing password does not meet the above requirements, you will be prompted to reset your password.

Wait 10 minutes after password change: Once you have changed your password, make sure to allow at least 10 minutes before logging in again.
Password Reset 404 Error: If you are prompted to reset your password upon signing in and you receive a 404-error message, please use the “Forgot Your Password?” link on our Sign-In page to reset your password using the criteria listed above.
Locked Out? If you are locked out of your account, it will automatically unlock after 30 minutes.

Can I apply my tickets toward a Zoo membership?

Yes – Daily admission tickets (does not include special or nighttime events) may be applied toward a membership within 14 days. You must contact our Membership department before purchasing your membership to apply tickets to your upgrade. Depending on the membership, please note not all tickets may be applied. Only one receipt can be applied per membership and your tickets cannot be applied toward gift memberships for other families. Sky Ride tickets may not be used toward a Sky Ride Day Pass. Daily Admission tickets cannot be applied to the Third Adult add-on. Call our Membership department at 719-424-7830 or 719-424-7893 with your ticket receipt’s order number to upgrade.

*Note: An order number from the original ticket is required for an upgrade. This number can be found on your admissions receipt.

Is there a discount on memberships for the military?

Yes. The military discount is $25 off any membership level. The military discount is offered to all active duty, veteran and retired military personnel any day of the year. You must show any of the following to qualify for the discount for you, your spouse and your dependents living in the same household:

A valid military / retired military ID
A copy of your DD214
Your state driver’s license printed with veteran indicator or military identifier
Your ID issued by the VA, VFW or American Legion
A military spouse ID, if the military member is not present

The military discount is available on all levels of membership. This discount cannot be combined with any other offers. A valid military ID is required upon purchase and every time you check in as a Zoo member. The purchaser of the membership must be military and listed on the membership; the discount is not applicable to gift recipients. Please call 719-424-7830 or 719-424-7893 for more information.

How do I gift a membership to someone?

A gift membership for any level of membership can be purchased online to begin immediately, or, can given as a membership gift certificate to be activated within one year of purchase by contacting the Membership department. For more details, please visit our Gift Membership page.

I was gifted a Zoo Membership, how to I redeem it?

If you receive an email from CMZoo that you have been given a membership, your membership is already active. Welcome to the Zoo family! Please go here for more details on how to redeem your membership gift.

How do I download my digital membership card?

You can download your digital membership card one of two ways: through the eMembership Card app available on the stores, which includes access to additional Zoo resources, or directly to the wallet of your smartphone. Complete

When can I download my digital membership card?

Your digital membership card is available to download as soon as your membership card is active! All memberships are active once the transaction has been complete online, in-person or over the phone.

Why do I get an error message that says no record found when I try to download my digital membership card?

If you have an active membership but receive an error message, this either means your account information is not up to date or you have a duplicate account. Please contact the Membership department at [email protected] or 719-424-7830 so that we can assist you!

I downloaded the eMembership Card app and can see my membership information, but I don’t have the option to add the card to my wallet. What do I do?

If your active membership account has been successfully found, but the “Add to Wallet” button doesn’t generate, you’ll need to close out of the app completely and reopen the app. If the “Add to Wallet” button still doesn’t generate, please contact the Membership department at [email protected] or 719-424-7830 for additional assistance.
