Classic Camp – Grades 6-8 – If I Ran Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
Have you ever wondered what it takes to run a zoo? From animal care and exhibit design to the science of diet preparation and the art of operations, it takes a lot to run a Zoo. Join us as we learn about the diverse careers that make a real difference in the lives of animals and the future of wildlife. You will even get to design your own Zoo!
This offers full week camps in May, June & July.

What to Bring to Camp
– Clothing and Accessories:
Campers should dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather. Layers are suggested and good. Closed toe walking shoes are essential. A daypack, sunscreen, and water bottle are highly recommended! If you have a younger camper- a spare set of clothes might be useful as well.
– Snacks & Lunches:
Please pack a morning snack, sack lunch, and afternoon snack for your camper. The Zoo DOES NOT provide lunch or snacks! Please send your child to camp with a sack lunch!
Payments
Camps must be paid in full at time of registration. Payment includes a 25% non-refundable administration fee, please see above for refund policy.
Health & Safety
This is the foremost consideration for all day camp participants. Camper health information will be with your child’s counselor at all times.

Full Week & Single Day Summer Camps: K – 8th Grade
– Available as full week camps, May through August.
– No overnights available.
– Campers should register for the grade they will enter in the fall.

Cost:
Registration includes one camp t-shirt, and any take home items.
(Extra camp t-shirts available at check-out, or during camp check-in.)

Note: 75¢ per day from each camp registration goes to Quarters for Conservation, which expands Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s regional and global conservation efforts.
EdVenture Refunds, Cancellations or Changes
Refund Policy
A refund request must be received no less than TWO WEEKS prior to the start of the program. If approved, the Zoo will refund the amount of the fee minus 25% of the program fee. No refunds will be given after two weeks prior to the start of the program.
*If you are participating in an extended EdVenture Program (Zoo Crew, Junior Zookeeper, etc.) please send an email to the program specific supervisor to discuss refund options and policies.
We do not issue refunds for parties that do not show for their reservation. If you need to cancel or reschedule your event, please refer to the confirmation email received upon registration. For further inquiry, please email [email protected].
If the Zoo is closed due to inclement weather or other unforeseen events, we will issue you a full refund (less the non-refundable deposit) or you may reschedule the event to the next available date and apply all payments already made toward your reservation to the new reservation.
Program Cancellation
The Zoo reserves the right to cancel a program due to lack of enrollment or unforeseen circumstances in which the Zoo is closed. If the Zoo is closed due to inclement weather or other unforeseen events, we will issue you a full refund (less the non-refundable deposit) or you may reschedule the event to the next available date and apply all payments already made toward your reservation to the new reservation.
