- Once you’re inside, you are welcome to stay at Boo at the Zoo until the event ends at 8:30 p.m.

Don your costume, bring your trick-or-treat bag and get ready for the “wildest” Halloween event in town! Boo at the Zoo is a unique way for families to trick-or-treat and enjoy Halloween festivities.

All of our candy is made with sustainable palm oil to help protect wild orangutans!

Highlights of Boo at the Zoo

What Can You Do at Boo at the Zoo?

Activities Include:

  • Haunted House – ages 6 and up, strobe lights in use (Lodge at Moose Lake),
  • Spooky Graveyard – (near Scutes Family Gallery),
  • Trick-or-treat at Spooky Treat Stations (throughout the Boo at the Zoo path),
  • Pirate’s Cove – (Australia Walkabout),
  • Lighted Pumpkin Patch – (My Big Backyard),
  • Photo Opportunities – If you’ve got it, haunt it! Perfect selfie spots are everywhere at Boo at the Zoo. See if you can find our special year-specific banners and tag your posts: #BOOCMZOO
  • Sky Ride – $3 at Sky Ride ticket booth (be in line by 7:30 p.m., last ride at 8 p.m.),
  • Carousel – $2 per person
  • Giraffe feeding – $3 per lettuce bundle, or two for $5.
  • Budgie feeding – $1 per seed stick.

– African Rift Valley – feed the giraffe inside the giraffe building
– African lions – in the relaxation room
– Australia Walkabout – wallaby building, Pirate’s Cove and feed the budgies
– Encounter Africa – elephants & rhino inside their barn
– Goat Experience – domestic goats up-close
– My Big Backyard – lighted pumpkin patch
– Experiences in The Loft – indoor smaller animal opportunities
– Scutes Family Gallery – reptiles and sloths
– Water’s Edge: Africa – hippos & penguins (Penguins close at dusk to promote healthy breeding cycles.)
– Primate World – closed (Our primates are sensitive to evening events.)

Costume Requirements

For the safety of all guests, costume masks and costume weapons may not be worn by guests 12 years of age or older. Masks worn by guests 11 years of age and younger must have openings that allow the eyes to be seen and that do not obstruct peripheral vision. Balloons are not allowed inside the Zoo (even as part of a costume) for the safety of our animals and wild animals.

Tickets & Discounts


Online timed e-tickets must be purchased in advance; no walk-up tickets available. Tickets are subject to selling out. Your ticket will indicate the earliest time you can enter the Zoo. From the ticketed time, you have a half-hour window to enter the Zoo (for example, if your ticket is for 4 p.m., you need to be in line to enter the Zoo by 4:30 p.m.). Once you’re inside, you are welcome to stay at Boo at the Zoo until the event ends at 8:30 p.m.

Nights are likely to sell out due to limited capacity.

Refund Policy

– Online tickets can be refunded or exchanged up to two weeks prior to ticketed event date. (For example, tickets purchased for Oct. 18 can be refunded through Oct. 4 only.)
– Boo at the Zoo is an all-weather event, snow, rain or shine. No refunds or exchanges for inclement weather.

Military Discount for Boo

**Military discount is offered to all active duty, veteran and retired military personnel any day of the year. Bring any of the following to validate your discounted tickets purchased online for you, your spouse and your dependents living in the same household:
– A valid military / retired military ID
– A copy of your DD214
– Your state driver’s license printed with veteran indicator or military identifier
– Your ID issued by the VA, VFW or American Legion
– A military spouse ID, if the military member is not present
This discount cannot be combined with other offers. A valid military ID is required upon admission.

Senior Discount

***Senior discount – must bring a valid photo ID showing their age of 65+ to validate their discounted senior tickets at the gate. If proper ID is not provided, the remaining balance of a non-senior ticket will be charged at Admissions that day.

MEMBERS PLEASE NOTE:
– Your member discount will appear in the final shopping cart after you have chosen your tickets, only if you are logged into your online account.
– All named members will be required to show a valid photo ID at the gate to confirm member discount eligibility.
– Your membership must be active through the end of October for discounted tickets to be valid.

    Click here to review our password reset guidelines and instructions, as well as request a password reset email. Please be sure your password meets all listed criteria and allow 10 minutes after you have reset your password before logging in again.
  • Need to register and create an online account? Click here.
  • If you are locked out of your account, it will automatically unlock after 30 minutes.
  • If you receive an error message that your registration cannot be processed, you have already registered! Please refer to the password reset information in the first bullet above.

  • Who qualifies for the member Boo etickets?
    Anyone who is listed on an active membership can get fully discounted member tickets.
    — For an Individual Plus membership, the primary named card holder and his/her guest is included.
    — For a Family or Grandparent membership, the one or two named adults and any listed children are included.
    — For Family Plus/Grandparent Plus and higher, any “Plus” guests are included (x1 for Family Plus/Grandparent Plus, x2 for Conservator, and x3 for Zoo Patron
    and Patron Gold) along with the one or two named adult(s) and any listed
    children.
    — Named Third Adults can also purchase a discounted member ticket.
  • Additional guests who are not included on the membership must purchase a non-member Boo ticket.

  • Visit our Membership page.
  • Sign-in (or register if you don’t have an online account) to apply your membership discount by using the orange SIGN-IN button at the top right of the buy tickets page.
  • Your member discount will appear in the final shopping cart, once your tickets have been chosen.
  • Memberships cannot be renewed during Boo at the Zoo events, so be sure your membership is active prior to your visit!

Volunteers Needed!

Looking for a fun way to get into the spooky spirit and help the Zoo? Volunteer at one of the Springs’ wildest Halloween traditions! Whether you’re looking for a unique date idea or a place to let your creativity soar — we have a volunteer position for you! All volunteers are crucial to the success and safety of Boo at the Zoo.

PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers must be at least 13 years old. Volunteers ages 13-17 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or school advisor at all times.

HAUNTED HOUSE (SET-UP/TEARDOWN)

– Haunted House 2024 Volunteer Registration Form
– Positions include putting up fabric walls creating the twists and turns of the haunted house, decorating, hanging webbing and more!
– Tear-down includes taking down the decor, web and walls.
– GREAT FOR: solo, couples, corporate teams, creatives, college students

PUMPKIN CARVING

– Pumpkin Carving 2024 Volunteer Registration Form
– Carve anywhere from 1-4 pumpkins (depends on the number of volunteers) and clean up after carving.
– GREAT FOR: solo, couples, corporate teams, creatives, college students, families with kids ages 13 and up

EVENT NIGHTS

– Boo Nights 2024 Volunteer Registration Form
– Positions include handing out or delivering candy, directing traffic and working the haunted house.
– We will not assign specific positions until the evening of the event.
– GREAT FOR: solo, couples (date night!), community groups, sports teams, volunteer groups, school groups, families with kids ages 13 and up
